CARBET
Coucou,
First of all, I want to thank you all for your nice comments on my watercolors, your encouragement make me continue in this way.
I'm back with a scrapbooking layout titled "Carbet". Some people will tell you that French Guyana without "carbet" is notFrench Guyana. But what exactly is a "carbet"? A "carbet" is a shelter made of wood without wall with a palm roof. It's typical of the Amerindian culture in French Guyana, Brazil, , Suriname and some Caribbean islands. It is generally designed to easily attach hammocks and protect themselves from rain and sun.
Many Amerindians still live in villages where the carbets are the main dwellings. Guyanese like to leave the week end in forest or by the rivers, in this case we will "carbet" or "we will make a carbet" or we go to the "carbet". The carbet is a must in Guyana. It is impossible to live here without ever attempting this experience.
One generally goes to the carbet by the river because the aim is to be far from everything, to find oneself immersed in nature :
That was our first "Carbet experience" two years ago. Despite the sounds of the animals in the forest, Antoine slept wonderfully well.
Et voici ma page :
This is my layout :
Bon weekend.
